FI into freedom

0/0
Franceses

The mirror build of the tea party build. Perform a standard FI and revolt to the USA. It's a bit safer but harder to pull off. You will have less revolutionaries and more gatlings upon revolting.

Yet another FI into revolt, this time with the French. This build is very exposed and should be mostly used for memes as performing Samby's old guard FI into into a revolt is more consistent. However, against civs with good cavalry or fast skirms, this fast revolt will perform much better.

Age I :

Perform a 14/20 TP opener. Focus on food and wood treasures. Build the TP first. 4 cdb on food, rest on wood until you can afford a house. Your 1st shipment should arrive as your house finishes construction. Age up with the governor. With good food treasures you can age up one villager earlier. In transition grab a 3rd herd and chop a market + hunting dogs, 150w and 100c. Queue 3 cdb.

Age II :

Build a church and ship 700c asap. Keep gathering food until you can age up. Age up with the exiled prince for a fast age up.

In transition chop for a house. Get 200c by mining with your cdb or selling food at the market. Be careful not to exhaust your hunts when selling food. When the house is built you want to queue 4 cdb.

In case of a colonial timing, you can burn a unit shipment in age 2 for a big "pop" with minutemen. This will delay your FI.

Age III :

If you are untouched, ship the fort wagon immediately followed by 1000c. Ship 100c and macro for age IV. Age up with the tycoon. Ship 1000w as soon as you can.

In transition bank 1000f for the revolt. Collect the wood crate and build a TP to ensure you will have your 6th shipment ready as you reach age 4. This will be dependant on the XP treasures on the map and if you managed to kill harassing units. One TP should be enough to ensure you have the shipment. Set some cdb to wood to recuperate what was spent on the TP.

Age IV :

Ship the 2 heavy canons. You can queue the USA revolt when the shipment is 3/4 of the way in. You will have some spare time to collect more resources before the revolt can start. You have a choice of what to collect :

  • 500w to pay for Knox's continental artillery. Excellent if you expect culverins from your opponent.
  • 500c to pay for "Bushnell sappers" OR "Continental army". Blow buildings up OR make your revolutionaries stronger against anything that is not a dragoon by transforming them into guard regulars.
  • Bank as much food as possible : pay for more revolutionaries upon revolting and/or greed by shipping European immigrants. The card is worth 14 settlers and some small XP trickle. They can be put on food to pay for more revolutionaries or on coin to afford the expensive shipments.

Once you ahve revolted, build your fort forward and push hard.

Variant :

Delay your revolt by researching mercantilism with the coin from the tycoon and ship the two factories followed by the 3 rockets. In transition to age 4, mine 500c and do not ship 1000w in transition and manually collect the wood needed for the revolt with the settlers and the factories. You can revolt as the USA or Haiti with this variant. Haiti works well if you built a barrack in age 2 as the shipment pikets allows you to spam cheap pikemen.
