The penultimate guide on my series of "Fast revolt". Germany is a complicated civ to revolt with as you face the steepest XP penalty. That makes it impossible to get 6 shipments in time to revolt by 11'30". However, since Germany has access to the tycoon, you can use mercantilism and delay your revolt by sending the two factories.

Game plan :

Perform a true FF by skipping the 3 settler wagons shipment, then gather the resources to go age 4 behind the cover of a fort. Finally, ship your factories before revolting.

Age I :

Standard 17/20 market opener. Guigs has a nice guide on ESOC if you want to know more. We will age up with the quartermaster.

In transition chop 100w for a house and sell food to get at least 275 coin, then mine the rest. Queue 3 settlers. From now on, XP treasures can be chased as they will make the shipments smoother in early age 4.

Age II :

Ship 700c, build a TP and a church, then macro for age 3 with the exiled prince. In transition macro for a house, placer mines and mine/sell food for 200c. Queue 5 settlers.

Age III :

Ship the fort, followed by 1000c. You might have to idle to afford age 4. Age up with the tycoon. In transition ship 1000w and put your settler wagons on coin. Use the wood to build three houses. Bank the rest.

Age IV :

Gather the coin crates and research mercantilism asap. Ship the two factories back to back. Then macro for 1000f 1000w and 1000c for the revolt while maintaining villager production. Put the factories on wood as it is their most efficient use for the moment.

Once you have revolted, push and sustain your momentum with shipments of units and production from factories.

Who to revolt with ?

  • Argentina : Most flexible option. Eat your cows with gauchos. The either ship 16 revolutionsries for immediate tempo OR ship 8 semi fattened cows to eat them and produce revolutionaries out of your TC. Factories on heavy canons by default but you can set them to food for more revolutionary spam or wood and use Buenos Aires shipment to (1) pay for folk heroes, thus boosting ship granaderos/gauchos OR (2) coin to pay for San Martin which is your best shipment.
  • Hungary : Worse in the short term compared to Argentina, but better if your opponent likes to migrate all over the map. Set factories on food, produce Grenzers out of your TC and ship crabats/falconets. Cover the maps with the towers. Do not aim for the magyar huzars until you have 10 towers built (set factories to coin to pay for the shipment).
  • Gran colombia : only if your opponent has a water boom. Ship Bolivar first. Colombian musketers are very slow. Better to have a pseudo daimio to deliver your musketeers in the thick of the action.
