FI into revolt

0/0
Italiener

The FI into revolt series is close to being done. This is the iteration of the build for italy. It suffers from the same problem as malta : no fast age up to 3, no tycoon, only one factory. And to add insult to injury, the xp penalty is even more egregious. The saving grace is the 2 papal bombard shipment.

However, you can still punch hard around 11'30" and have residual economy to fuel the push.

Game plan :

Age up to 9ndustrial in a timely fashion and revolt.

Age I :

16/20 "regular" opening.

Research HD, the combat upgrades and gangsaw during age 1 and placer mines+steel traps in transition.

Age up with the governor around 3'10".

In transition research all the remaining T1 upgrades at the market. If you have the wood, research the food upgrade. You do not need to gather coin, the trickle from capitalism will fund the age 3 and steel traps.

Age II :

Ship 700c, gather the coin crates and macro for 1200f and 1000c. Build a basilica with the architect but do not speed it up. Age up with the marksman (musketeers) or the adventurer (pavisier). Architect on houses after the basilica is done. Stay within aura for faster building.

In transition finish collecting for the basilica, then research the two loS upgrades at the basilica for two extra settlers.

Age III :

Ship 1000c. Then, macro for 2000f. Capitalism will cover the remaining coin. If excess coin, buy wood and research the T2 food upgrade if not already. Age up with the cavalry marshal or the engineer depending on what the enemy is making.

In transition ship 1000w and macro for 1000f and 1000c to pay for the revolt. Excess resources should be put to food.

Age IV :

Ship 2 papal bombards and queue the revolt.

Once you have revolted, you can maximise tempo but shipping 16 revolutionaries OR ship European immigrants and set your highly upgraded willagers on hunts/mines to pay for better unit shipments or train more revolutionaries.

Who to revolt with ?

  • The United States : The default choice. You can save res prior to revolting to afford excellent shipment like Knox, EU immigration, continental army etc. With this revolt you can also age up with the logistician to the 4rd age for the fort wagon that will yield 2 gatlings upon revolting.
  • Argentina : Provided you have decent XP treasures on the map, you can alter the BO to get the most of argentina. Intransition to age 3, ship the 7 cows (marked with "A"). Use settlers to chop wood to accelerate the basilica (as usual), a livestock pen and the house. Make sure you have 3 settlers in queue before hitting age 3. Ship 1000c and 1000w whenever you can. You must age up with the pope or you will not have enough XP to ship the 2 papal bombards. In age 4 build a lombard. Research folk heroes and selective breeding after you have revolted. Use your gauchos to eat the cows. You will be able to pump revolutionaries with your TC.
  • Barbary coast : Barbary warriors are fast, the papal bombards are not. Consider ageing to industrial with the engineer. You can build a lombard before revolting and research folk heroes after revolting for a better "punch". Amusingly, barbary coast offers a better reboom as your settlers after dhimma still cost food instead of coin. Considering you have the two food upgrades, this is a net gain.
  • Brazil : you need a different BO for this revolt to work well.
